Welcome one and all to the new Abbey of Loamhedge!Currently under construction, but open for posting!
Loamhedge Abbey stood strong before the earthquake. There was so much flamboyance, but not too proud. It was the perfect blend; at first, the mice and hedgehogs and squirrels who founded the Abbey of Loamhedge were very humble. The Abbey wasn’t exactly a great piece of art. However, as it grew, and more families and creatures moved in, it flourished. Plants grew even on the hot, caked up soil that was so encrusted by sand and rock. This place of majesty and wonderment was a barren region. A desert!
As recorded in the ‘Chronicles of Loamhedge’ written by an unknown early recorder at the newer, Redwall Abbey, a plague struck the Abbey. Thus, it was deserted. Hah, did you really think that those proud, traditionally led creatures were going to leave completely? No, not at all. Led by a hedgehog named Ruddaring, some of the group disbanded from the others. “My great great gran'spike ‘elped build this very Abbey with ‘is own paws,” Ruddaring demanded, who at the time was only a Cellar Keeper, “an’ I will not leave until I die, so ‘elp me, Dark Forest!”
Thus, many mice and squirrels stayed, with a few hedgehogs and moles, some voles, and more! Good ferrets, good rats, and others elected Ruddaring as Abbot, and he suited the job well. As Loamhedge Abbey grew, so did the bond between each Abbeybeast, filling the abode with such a peace and joy that you could simply faint in the lovely ambiance of it all! When the earthquake struck a hundred seasons later, the Abbey died and collapsed; not in terror, but in peace. It slowly decayed away, everyone praying, and everyone remembering… they were on their way to Dark Forest, and this wasn’t an end. It was a beginning.

**You walk into a room where a small mousemaid is busily looking in a cabinet, her tail sweeping the floor anxiously. She turns to you, then raises her eyebrows as you look at your paws, scuffing the floor with them. Sighing, she turns back to her work and pulls out some milkweed, and bandages, then opens a jar and pops a candied chestnut into her mouth. Turning around once more, she looks to you.**
Your still here? Goodness! There are sick beasts, wounded beasts and resting beasts here! Either leave or lay down, I need to treat this hedgehog with a cold! Then this dibbun, flower, with burnt paws!
**Going over to a hedgehog, she gives him a cup of milkweed juice and then affectionately rubs the tip of his spikes.**

**Sunset scuffles about the room, ignoring the crowds. She suddenly shouts allowed, her voice echoing across the room.**
OUT! ALL OF YOU!
**Coming back with a large dull knive, she waves it threateningly at a few dibbuns trying to write on an unconcious beast's head. They quickly scurry away and Sunset sighs, picking up her canteen and slurping from it daintily. She turns to see the mouse and her eyes brighten with surprise.**
You want to help? Well...okay. If you want to help, go and get me some bandages from that closet! Oh, I do hope that there is another beast in here soon! Not that I want everyone to get sick...It's just that I'm bored. I need a sick dibbun or something.
**Sniffing in, she guides a frail mouse to the door, her eyes fixed on the mouse's binded tail. She calls to the old female mouse.**
Now Gellan, don't go far! We don't want your tail to get hurt anymore then it is.
**Turning back to her helper, she smiles and mutters.**
Gellan got a knife stuck in her tail. Took a long, agonizing amount of time to get it out. Stupid dibbuns and their games.
**Rolling her eyes, she smiled and tiptoed over to the sleeping hedgehog, her only other patient.**

Aigryus, the mouse smiles sheepishly at Sunset. He looks around and spots the closet. Quickly, he scurries over and opens the door. A cloud of dust rises, making the tiny mouse sneeze. Finally, the dust settles and he peers inside the closet. He sees a few boxes, an empty bucket, another box, another empty bucket... At last his eyes settle over a lumpy sort of shape thing. He picks it up curiously and smiles. *I've found it! Where do you need it now? He waves the package of bandages around.

"Oi, me achin' stummick!"
A visitor to Loamhedge was nestled in one of the sickbay beds. He was a rat, no doubt, but was in no position and had no means of being a threat to the peaceful creatures.
Midge was odd in appearance, as he was tall, lanky, white furred, and had crimson eyes. He was an albino rat and also had a bit of a hearing impairment. He wore a long, green tunic and a belt of eelskin. He is pierced and tattooed like a corsair, but he cannot remember a thing before he came to the abbey. He gladly turned his blade over upon his entrance. He just wants to rest.
He also was a hypocondriac and, after he came ot Loamhedge, began frequenting the Sick Bay to see the good sister.
At the moment, he stood at the doorway with his belly clutched in his paws. "Oi, deary meh, Sister, meh stummick, it's plaguin' me sumin awful! An' on top o' this sprained footpaw, I think I migh' be dyin'!" He complained in a distraught manner; he threw one of his paws up in dismay, then pointed at the particular paw that ailed him.

OOC: Wow! Aurie, you're a great RPer!
BIC: Aigryus turns to the albino rat, Aurie. He smiles as he watches him. At last the mouse turns to Miss Sunset. *Marm, this poor good rat here might be in need of help. What can I do to help?

The lithe form of the imfirmery sister shivered as a cold draft blew tufts of her fur onto and out of the wonderous stained glass window. She turned to the field mouse and smiles, then clears her throat.
"Just set them on the table there."
Swishing her tail to and fro, another cold breeze caused the sleeping patient to shiver, and Sunset sighed. She snapped at Aigryus, not purposely.
"Go and close that window!"
Swirling around, she spotted the rat and immiediately backed away, bumping into the soft covers of the hedgehog and getting a few scratches from the spikes. She turned to the rat and saw that he didn't seem hostile, so she listened.
"Oi, deary meh, Sister, meh stummick, it's plaguin' me sumin awful! An' on top o' this sprained footpaw, I think I migh' be dyin'!"
"Oh for Martin's sake! It aint that bad! Lay your weary vermin bottom on one of the beds and I'll be with you soon. "
Rummaging through her closet, Sister Sunset finally found what she was needing and bustled over to Midge. She spoke softly.
"Now, I'm going to have you drink a bit of juice from Angelica. That'll soon soothe your "fatal" stomach ache. Now for the sprain...hmm. Oh yes! I need to put some Calendula Ointment onto it and then I will have you take some strained Ginsang. This will relax you and keep you oblivious to the world long enough for me to feel for any scars and to rub some Chervil oil on it."
Sunset gave him a cup of juice from the herb Angelica. She put the ointment onto the sprain and gave him another cup, one of strained Gingsang. She smiled and then waited for Midge to fall oblivious and wet her paws with oil of the Chervil root.

"Just set them on the table there." Aigryus smiles at Sister Sunset, and walks towards the table that she was indicating. Almost reaching there, he hears her say: "Go and close that window!" Aigryus turns around and smiles again. *No prob', just gotta get this there first! he calls waving the package around. Finally he reaches the table. Placing it down, he hears the others behind him talking. He listens to what they say.

The ivory hued creature accepted the two cups and gave the Sister a broad wink. "Ach, I be thankin' yer kindly, Sister. Thankin' yer much, much kindly." He downed both cups like one who had a great deal of experience in taking shots of medication... Or alcoholic beverages. Being a former searat, either one was a good possibility.
He winced slightly as the liquids went down and placed the empty cups on the table before hopping into one of the beds.
It only took moments for the medication to take him over.

Sunset watched as Midge was overtaken by the herb and smiled, then looked around his fur. She combed it back and stroked his paw comfortingly before touching something hard. Luckily, it was just an old battle scar, so Sunset didn't treat that. She smiled brightly before turning around and sitting on a bed. She waited for the affect to wear off.

After a while, Midge began to come to. He moaned quietly, then bolted up. He seemed alarmed and disoriented, but the expression passed after a few seconds.
"Ach, oh, aye... Inna 'Oam'edge..." He panted to himself quietly, then gave Sunset a smile. "Lookin' okay, Sister?" He asked as he rung his paws nervously. He was calming back down, but for a moment he had forgotten where he was.

OOC: I agree with Aurrie. Anyways, I always do much worse than that (and I don't mean that your's was bad!) BIC: **Aigryus walks around the room, finally reaching the window. He shuts it gently, trying not to disturb the creatures of the sick bay.**
