Welcome one and all to the new Abbey of Loamhedge!Currently under construction, but open for posting!
Loamhedge Abbey stood strong before the earthquake. There was so much flamboyance, but not too proud. It was the perfect blend; at first, the mice and hedgehogs and squirrels who founded the Abbey of Loamhedge were very humble. The Abbey wasn’t exactly a great piece of art. However, as it grew, and more families and creatures moved in, it flourished. Plants grew even on the hot, caked up soil that was so encrusted by sand and rock. This place of majesty and wonderment was a barren region. A desert!
As recorded in the ‘Chronicles of Loamhedge’ written by an unknown early recorder at the newer, Redwall Abbey, a plague struck the Abbey. Thus, it was deserted. Hah, did you really think that those proud, traditionally led creatures were going to leave completely? No, not at all. Led by a hedgehog named Ruddaring, some of the group disbanded from the others. “My great great gran'spike ‘elped build this very Abbey with ‘is own paws,” Ruddaring demanded, who at the time was only a Cellar Keeper, “an’ I will not leave until I die, so ‘elp me, Dark Forest!”
Thus, many mice and squirrels stayed, with a few hedgehogs and moles, some voles, and more! Good ferrets, good rats, and others elected Ruddaring as Abbot, and he suited the job well. As Loamhedge Abbey grew, so did the bond between each Abbeybeast, filling the abode with such a peace and joy that you could simply faint in the lovely ambiance of it all! When the earthquake struck a hundred seasons later, the Abbey died and collapsed; not in terror, but in peace. It slowly decayed away, everyone praying, and everyone remembering… they were on their way to Dark Forest, and this wasn’t an end. It was a beginning.

*Geminya walked silently up the stairs to the upstairs dormitories of Loamheadge. When she had lived at Redwall Abbey, the dibbun's room was the dirtiest of all. Smiling ruefully, the mouse remembered that she herself had drawn on the walls under a tapestry. Suddenly, she came upon what she was looking for. A door, splattered with unidentifiable mess and hanging slightly off it's hinges. Slowly she reviewed the information she had about their current project.
When Abbess Germaine had left Loamhedge to escape the plague, the dormitories on this floor had been left empty because there was no need to have them used. Now Gem and some friends were planning on solving a mystery connected to this room.
Right before the sickness broke out, a band of dibbuns had formed a society in the very room Geminya stood at. They were so secret, nobody even knew their name. But the day before the Abbess and her creatures left, those dibbuns had disappeared. Nobody had ever found them or investigated what had happened to them.
But now Gem was in a mystery solving mood. As she tapped one paw against her hip, the mouse scanned the nearby floor. A quick glance showed something under the muffling carpet of dust. She picked it up, shaking it gently to rid it of the enveloping dust. It read: kEp oU. Or it had when the dibbuns put it there. Geminya was sure this was the first clue to solving the mystery.*

Eh? What the fur- AHHH! **In a cloud of dust, Rud Pondground (and part of the door) came tumbling into the dorm.** Well, isn't that polite-like, not replacing the dorm door when it's gonna cave in on me rudder! **Groaning such-like, the otter heaved herself up on her paws. As if just noticing Geminya, she waved.** 'Ello, Gem. What are you doing?

**A badger comes running after hearing the loud bump with a great war spear in his hands and speaks.** What is going on here... **The badger trails off as he realises that Rud is getting up with the door to the in-famous dibbun gang dorm.** I guess I should've known that Rud would be where the bangs come from.

Vazgra, the temporary leader of the whole Abbey while Abbot Ruddaring was away, smirked as his brown eyes scoured the room for clues. The rat wasn't particulary fond of expeditions, but he enjoyed an occasional mystery. Only if I can have some Ale afterwards. He thought to himself, chuckling. "Gaza," as he was known, wasn't exactly fit to lead an Abbey, nor was he fit to even be in an Abbey. The rat's dirty, shaggy fur was always splotched with mud like a dibbun, and he wore torn clothing. Some argued that since he was a rat, he shouldn't be allowed in, but the Abbey of Loamhedge would never discriminate against other beasts. Since he arrived at Loamhedge, he assumed the role of a goodbeast, but his past was marred by the old memories of being a vermin scum.
Somehow, Abbot Ruddaring had taken a liking to him and appointed him many different positions. Now, while he was off on a trip to Redwall Abbey, Vazgra was appointed temporary leader. Although he had assumed the role of a goodbeast, he still had a few vermin habits, such as not bathing, et cetera. Finally, his thoughts were cut when he heard a yell. [b]"Eh? What the fur- AHHH!" Apparently, the door had caved in on rud. Vazgra then immediately studied the walls and barked out commands. "This place is old, very old. Hurry, everyone of you grap some pieces of the chopped wood and bar them against the walls, hopefully long enough to reach the other walls. We can't have this cave-in and kill us just for a few dibbuns!"
Vazgra immediately picked up wood and stuck it in the wall, trying with rapid speed to make sure that Abbey members weren't killed when he was responsible for them. Finally, when he was happy with the job he had done, he moved over to Geminya. "Keep out? Hm, There must be some sort of secret passage way in this very room. It'll be dangerous for us to investigate, however, because the ground is unstable. We ought to bring in the moles, Gem'."

*Gem jumped backwards as Rud barreled through the door, causing it to collapse. She smirked as the otter pulled herself up as Oceanpaw came running into the dorm. Listening only halfway to their friendly banter, the mouse slipped the tattered parchment into her habit pocket as Vazgra finished securing the entryway. Her light brown eyes clouded with worry as the rat forced her to remember the sensitive nature of their mission. It wasn't that Gem wanted to see the others put their lives in danger, but oh! How she longed to solve this mystery.
A tiny little voice from inside her head penetrated the detective fever raging inside her head. What if they get hurt? Think of your responsibility. You're a pretty high ranking mouse here at Loamheadge. Everyone in the abbey expects you to put them before your personal desire. The mouse shook her head, waving away the caution in her head. But the voice was right, she couldn't just go gallivanting into anything without putting the best interests of the abbey beasts in front of her interests. Gem raised her voice to be heard.*
Quiet! If anyone hear is concerned about the safety of this mission, here is the bare facts. We may be investigating a deteriorated building that is in danger of collapse. There is a large possibility that that may happen. So, I will go, but you have the choice whether to follow or not. Nobeast will think less of you for not taking an unnecessary risk.
*With that off her chest, Geminya walked into a corner that was littered with scraps of parchment and motioned for Vazgra to follow her. As she spoke with her superior, the mouse knelt on the rotten dusty floorboards and sorted through the scraps.*
Gaza, I would call the moles, but they all seem to be away from the abbey.
*Picking up a pile of larger, more solid pieces the brown eyes search for any scrap of ink on them.*
Maybe these will tell us what to do, and where to go.

*Aria comes up the stairs to the room and walks in. She stops next to Rud and sits down.* 'Ello, Rud. Whatcha doin'? *Seeing Gem talking to Vazgra, she waves a paw at them. Are we doin' somethin' special, or what? Is this a quest? I like quests. I'd be willin' to help ya do whatever your doin'. *Aria stands up and leans against the door only to find out that if she puts all her weight on it, it would break. She walks over to a firm looking wall and leans against it instead.*
OOC; Sorry about the little short post but I really just don't know what to say.

**Aigryus and his friend the badger, Senelisia, followed the sounds up to the upstair dormitories. Seeing that a group of creatures had already gathered around, Senelisia nudged Aigryus and pointed towards the broken door. The mouse shook his head.** Let's just see what's happening. **Aigryus whispered this, so that he wouldn't disturb the others. Senelisia shrugged. At least this was doing something and not just strolling lazily around the Abbey's grounds. Aigryus turns towards a creature who was leaning on the wall.** Hi there, do you know what we're doing here?

*Geminya returned to the room later on that year. The sun shone brightly in through the broken window. It had been many months since they had last stood in this room. Most of the Abbey's residents had left the abbey for some reasons known only to themself. Only a few remained and she wanted to finish what she had started before everyone left. Standing in the corner she and Gaza had stood in at the first beginning of the quest, she picked up the papers that had carelessly fallen from her paw. Gem didn't remember why she hadn't continued the quest, but the light brown mouse couldn't remember much. Everything got so hazy a year ago. Skimming the paper, she found it was a journal of sorts. Raising her voice, she called out through the deserted abbey building:*

"What is it? Gem! What's wrong!!??" Oceanpaw yells out, since he was one of the two who remained at the Abbey, he now carried his broadsword and war spear at all times incase they were overrun. Oceanpaw bolts up to the dibbun club room, and he slows down, realising what Gem had in mind, to finish what the whole group had started.

*Rud slowly walked up the abbey steps, unsure of herself. Why did she leave? She hadn't mean't to stay in Southsward so long, only a month or two. The place became empty in her absence.*
What is it? Gem! What wrong?
*The otter whiped her head around in surprise.* Oceanpaw? Gem? *she whispered. In five leaps, Rud jumped over the courtyard and into the building. If two beasts were here, maybe the abbey was still alive.*

"Hello Rud, I know you hoped to come home to a full Abbey, but all but Gem and I have uped and left. I have had the urge but keep coming back. Regardless of what I do, I always come back. I guess I can't leave Gem here alone!" **Oceanpaw says with a laugh.**

*Aria strolled through the deserted gardens of the Abbey of Loamhedge thinking about the last time she had seen these gardens several months ago. She came up to the door leading into the Abbey itself and pushed them open. As she entered the abbey she looked around hoping to see someone or some sign that some beasts still lived here.* 'Ello! Anyone still livin' 'ere? *Listening for a reply she heard something upstairs. She ran up the stairs and, after looking around, saw an old door hanging ajar. She stepped through it and saw Geminya, Oceanpaw, and Rud looking at some old papers.* Yay! Someone does still live 'ere! I was beginin ta wonder...
